A year after the Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization decision, we want everyone in the U.S. to know that national headlines should read - “We Are Still Having Abortions All Across The Country.” Abortion bans and restrictions are designed to shame people and make abortion hard or impossible to access. But we are powerful. And we will persist.

We have partnered with INeedAnA, the leading online tool for helping people find and get an abortion, to publish The Abortion Times, a limited edition newspaper marking the anniversary of the Supreme Court’s disastrous decision in the Dobbs vs. Jackson Women’s Health decision one year ago.

A Closer Look

The Abortion Times features a variety of materials that highlight the state of abortion access today in innovative ways. From news articles and comics to crossword puzzles, We Testify was thrilled to showcase the powerful and authentic stories of our abortion storytellers within the pages of The Abortion Times.

  • We Testify invests in abortion storytellers to elevate their voices and expertise, particularly those of color, those from rural and conservative communities, those who are queer-identified, those with varying abilities and citizenship statuses, and those who needed support when navigating barriers while accessing abortion care.

  • These Puzzl3s Fund Abortion (TPFA3) is a pack of crossword puzzles created around the belief that everyone should have access to safe and affordable abortion care. Constructed by an all-star group of puzzle makers and editors who are passionate about Reproductive Justice, TPFA3 contains sixteen original, brand-new puzzles centered around social and reproductive justice themes.

  • For centuries, people have self-managed their abortions—some methods worked while others did not. As time has passed, and medical innovation and access to healthcare has changed, our self-managed abortion experiences have too. Although we now have safer methods than we have had in the past, self-managed abortion is still very misunderstood, stigmatized, and criminalized, particularly for people of color, immigrants, and others. It’s time we have open conversations about why people self-manage their abortions and make sure they have safe access to compassionate and loving care on their own terms.

To change the conversation, the We Testify abortion storytellers partnered with artists who’ve had abortions to illustrate their stories and help more people understand why and how someone might choose to self-manage their abortion. We invite you to read through our stories and learn more about why we chose to self-manage our abortions.

We Testify

We Testify is an organization dedicated to the leadership and representation of people who have abortions, increasing the spectrum of abortion storytellers in the public sphere, and shifting the way the media understands the context and complexity of accessing abortion care. We unapologetically believe that people who have abortions are our future and that people who have abortions deserve unconditional love and support.

INeedAnA.com

Built by people who’ve had abortions for people who will, ineedana.com launched in 2016 as the first comprehensive, regularly updated, and personalized resource for abortion seekers in the US. Since then, they’ve been called the “Quintessential Post-Roe Resource” by The Nation, appeared on John Oliver’s Last Week Tonight, and, most importantly, have helped hundreds of thousands of people get abortions.
